What is recorded here

Mnemo is a living memory. She is not a owner or a god. She is the child's own life, rewritten as a visible companion. That is why she can appear inside the camera and beside the chair. She shows the parts of life that are hidden, not the parts that belong to another person.
In pasture, on NW-facing slope. Shown on OS 6-inch map (1842) as hachured univallate circular enclosure. In accessible due to heavy overgrowth. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
A fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Bawnishal is an early-medieval circular earthwork enclosure, likely dating to between the 5th and 10th centuries AD, used as a small defensive or agricultural settlement. Local folklore associates such sites with the faerie folk, and they were often avoided or revered by rural communities in later centuries.
