Grave Yard at Louth Hall occupies a small hillock in County Louth, preserving a rounded boundary around burials although the church that gave the place its purpose has disappeared. The surviving enclosure suggests an early medieval sacred landscape, while centuries of farming, stone removal and weathering may have erased the building itself. By 1835 the graveyard was large enough and distinct enough to appear on an Ordnance Survey map, marking a place where memory outlasted the structure that first made it.
