Stone font is a small basined rock set against a field bank at the edge of an old sacred enclosure in County Monaghan. Its shallow cup faces the rising sun, waiting for rain, tears or wine. People may have gathered there to mark life, loss or change before buildings rose and fell around it. The stone remains clear while memory blunts, offering a little of itself each time someone drinks or pours.

Located at the bottom of the undulating E-facing slope of a drumlin. A bullaun stone (dims 0.6m x 0.45m; H 0.35m) with a single basin (diam. 0.25m; D 0.05m) is against a field bank at ESE on the perimeter of the ecclesiastical enclosure (MO032-004003-) and just E of the site of the burial ground (MO032-004001-). Probably dating to the early Christian period, the stone font may have been used for baptism or ritual washing. Such stones are often associated with local saints or early monastic sites, and may have had both religious and communal significance.
