What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort atop a Cork hill, its forty-metre circle marked on an 1842 map and still holding a burial ground within an earthen bank. The bank has become a field fence, tying ancient death to ordinary farm life. That is not a mistake of record, but a clue: the fort still works, wearing a new shape.

In pasture, atop hill. Circular area, hachured as platform (diam. c. 40m) on OS 6-inch map (1842); now enclosed by earthen bank (H 1m) SE->NNE, incorporated into field fence system S->NNE.
