Children's burial ground in Ballybricken North

Children's burial ground

What is recorded here

Killeen, south Ballybricken North: a Pagan derc kept for children the church would not take. Near Killeen House still, small graves wait under grass, patient as breath.
According to Barry (1916-19, 9) 'in the south end of the townland of Ballybricken North there are remains of an ancient derc or Pagan burial ground, now called Killeen, where unpaptised children were, until recently, buried.' Exact location of this burial ground could not be established, however may be within the vicinity of Killeen House according to local information.
