What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in Cavetown OR Ballynahoogh, County Roscommon, Ireland. It is a circular overgrown island with a flat top composed of stones and earth. The island sits towards the west end of Clogher Lake, fifty metres from the south shore. A basin stone called a bullaun could not be found there.
Towards the W end of Clogher Lake (dims c. 1 km E-W; c. 100-200m N-S) 50m from the S shore. Circular overgrown island (diam. 19.5m) with a flat top (diam. of top 15.5m; H 0.5-0.7m) composed of stones and earth. A stone (dims c. 0.5m x. c. 0.5m) with a basin described as a bullaun stone (RO010-030002-) (OS Name Book) could not be found. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
