Destroyed Ardfarn Stone Ringfort — Report the wrong picture

Modern quarrying has erased the Ardfarn Stone Ringfort, removing even the half-wall Davies once saw rising barely above the grass. It sat on a prominent rock, precipitous to the north but gentle to the south, large enough for twenty paces across and close enough to a bullaun stone for prayer or play. The loss is not merely architectural; it is a reminder that human memory needs visible proof, and quarrying took the proof while the story remained.

Internal diam. c. 20m. There is no trace of the remains of a cashel described by Davies. Only half the circular wall was visible then, rising just above the grass. A 'Cave' reported nearby would appear to have been natural. Modern quarrying has destroyed the site. It was located on top of a prominent rock, precipitous to the N but sloping gently to the S. Two fields to the SW, there is a bullaun stone. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
