Embanked enclosure — Report the wrong picture

Half a kilometre from the last road, a grassy oval still holds its shape on the hill slope. The earthen bank rises two metres at its best, wide enough for a cart wheel to catch if it left the path, while the outer ditch carries rainwater instead of keeping invaders out. The southern entrance faces the valley, inviting entry rather than blocking it. Whatever lived inside has dissolved into rush and soil, but the circle remains clear enough to walk unharmed.

Located towards the top of the S-facing slope of a small hill. This is a grass and rush-covered oval area (dims 41m E-W; 29.7m N-S; int. dims 37m E-W; 27m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3.5-4m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.3) best preserved S-W (max. ext. H 2.2m), and an external fosse re-cut as a drainage ditch (Wth of top 3.3-3.5m;Wth of base 1-1.2m; D 0.7m) SE-NW. The entrance (Wth 2m) is at SSW.
