What is recorded here

The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Described locally as having int. diam. of c. 28m enclosed by earthen bank (H 1m, max. diam. c. 40m). Levelled, but sometimes visible as cropmark. Possibly a ringfort. Aerial photograph (GB89.AH.29) shows cropmark of a sub-circular enclosure defined by a fosse (Barrett 1989).
