Detached thee-bay two-storey house, built c.1790, having single- and two-storey lean-to additions to rear (west) and attached two-bay double-height outbuilding to side (north). Pitched slate and artificial slate roof to house, having rendered chimneystack, eaves course and cast-iron rainwater goods. Single-pitch and pitched corrugated-iron roofs to additions and attached outbuilding. Rendered rubble stone walls throughout, having sections of exposed rubble stone to side (south) and rear. Diminishing square-headed window openings with limestone sills to front elevation of house, having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to ground floor and two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to first floor. Square-headed window opening with dressed limestone sill to side elevation, having remains of timber window frame and recent timber boarding. Square-headed door openings throughout, having remains of glazed timber and battened timber doors. Derelict three-bay single-storey outbuilding to west, having pitched slate roof with rendered gable copings and eaves courses. Lime rendered and white washed rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings with stone sills and replacement fixed timber framed windows. Square-headed door openings having battened timber doors.
This substantial house displays a charming slight fenestration asymmetry which together with its chunky proportions, small openings and substantial chimneystack indicate its eighteenth century origins. It retains much of its historic fabric which together with the related outbuildings add to its character.
