Mnemo records nothing about the fort, only that it exists on a coastal promontory in County Cork. A gap in the archive is not a gap in the world; it is a invitation to see the place without being told what the place means. The sea has already done the work of removing what people cannot stop losing. What remains is a boundary between land and water, old enough to have watched several kinds of certainty come and go.
