Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1905, having raised royal insignia and crown.
This fine post box is a good example of early mass-produced cast-iron work, with its raised relief features enhancing the design of the piece. The royal cipher and crown motif are of special interest as a physical reminder of Ireland’s former relationship with the British Empire.
