Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1930, with curved cap and raised lettering. Mounted in rendered roadside wall.
This cast-iron post box is an attractive item of street furniture and is a fine example of early twentieth century mass-produced cast-iron work. The raised Gaelic script lettering alludes to the Celtic Revival, representing the promotion of a national identity within the emergent independent state.
