Post-mounted cast-iron post box, erected c.1960, having panelled margins. Post office insignia and foundry mark embossed in raised relief.
A notable example of twentieth-century street furniture, this post box has a simplicity and clarity of design typical of its time. Its functional nature is enhanced and emphasised by casting using capital letters in a clear simple font.
