What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron post box installed c.1880, having embossed VR monogram and crown over canopied letter slot. Set in roughcast rendered church enclosing wall.
Cast-iron post boxes such as this are often replaced by modern plastic boxes and are becoming increasing rare. The modest form of this box is enhanced by the simple and well-designed lettering and crown, which add artistic interest to the box.

This does not grant access. Most recorded buildings are privately owned; view them only from public ground unless the owner allows entry.
