This cast-iron post box, which is still in use, is an attractive item of street furniture and is an fine example of early twentieth century mass-produced cast-iron work. The raised detailing is of artistic interest, alluding to the Celtic Revival style and representing the continued promotion of a national identity by the emergent independent state.
