What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron post box, installed c.1930, with raised lettering. Set into rendered gate pier.
An interesting piece of street furniture contributing positively to the streetscape. The raised lettering on the letter slot and the maker's mark are crisp and demonstrate the quality of the casting. Cast-iron post boxes such as this are increasingly threatened by plastic replacement.
