Pit-burial in Kilcornan (dunkellin By.)

Pit-burial

What is recorded here

Death in Kilcornan followed a brutal honesty. The dead went into pits rather than grand tombs, stripping away pretence and forcing humanity to face its own small size. That simplicity still startles, reminding us that burial is not performance but surrender.
