Partially hachured

Described in 1977 as a ringfort that is situated on top of a low rise of ground in good pastureland with good views to the SE and S. Possible ringfort (WM032-099----) located 90m to the NW. The monument consists of a small circular-shaped area (diam. c. 29m N-S; c. 31m E-W) defined by a scarp with no evidence of an enclosing bank or external fosse. A modern silage pit has been constructed just outside the monument on the SE side. The perimeter of the monument has been damaged by livestock poaching from SE-S. There is no evidence of an original entrance feature. The interior is uneven and slopes upwards from the perimeter to the centre. Depicted as a circular shaped monument on the first edition of the OS 6-inch. The curving field fence forming the S boundary of the monument that is indicated on the revised editions of the OS 6-inch map represents the S bank of the ringfort. A field boundary running N from NE quadrant of ringfort that is depicted on the revised edition of the OS 6-inch map has since been removed. Compiled by: Caimin O’Brien Date of upload: 28 March 2013
