What is recorded here

Situated in relatively low-lying, wet pasture with good views to NE, E and SE. Annotated ‘fort’ on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map and depicted as the arc of an enclosure bisected by a field boundary running N-S. Depicted on the 1837 OS 6-inch map as a semi-circular shaped earthwork (dims. 33m NE-SW; 21m NW-SE) bisected at E by a field boundary running N-S with no evidence for enclosing element on E side of field boundary. Levelled monument described in 1971 as no surface remains visible. Levelled monument not visible today on Digital Globe aerial photographs.
