What is recorded here

On slight SE facing slope, with good views from ENE-E-S and to SW. Large D-shaped area (diam. 61.3m NNE-SSW; 47.5m WNW-ESE) defined by slight remains of an earthen bank mainly reduced to a scarp and wide deep fosse best preserved from W-NNW. The straight side of the D-shaped area is at NNE. No entrance feature visible. On the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map the monument is depicted as an irregular shaped area which is missing the enclosing element from N-NE. On this map the straight sided enclosing element at NE is defined by a post-1700 field boundary running NW-SE. Traces of cultivation ridges can be seen running across the interiorn of the monument.
