What is recorded here

Situated on low-lying grassland with restricted views. Depicted on the 1837 OS Fair Plan map as a sub-rectilinear shaped enclosure and annotated as a ‘fort’. Depicted as an antiquity on the 1837 ed. OS 6-inch map and as an irregular shaped field on subsequent editions of the OS maps. A field fence which formed the S side of this enclosure has been removed. The field fences which form the N, E & W enclosing element of the monument still survive today as field boundaries.
