Entrance gateway to Newberry House, erected 1852, comprising inner and outer pairs of square-plan ashlar limestone gate piers. Inner piers have moulded plinths and caps with carved pineapple finials and decorative cast-iron double-leaf gates, and limestone wheel guards. Outer piers have stepped moulded plinths and moulded caps topped with carved hawks. Set back from road, with curving partly rendered coursed rubble limestone walls between pairs of piers.

This monumental entrance gateway exhibits fine craftsmanship in the decorative carved limestone details. The outer piers are unusually high and makes the gateway a grand and imposing entrance announcing the presence of Newberry House beyond.
