What is recorded here

B. Ó Ciobháin recorded the placename 'Móta Pheig Ní Shé' [Peig O'Shea's moat] in this townland (SMR file). Joyce (1913, vol. 1, 290) states that 'the large high mounds are often called mota in Irish, the same as the English word moat'. The precise location of this possible mound or moat is not known. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
