Enclosure in Baurearagh (glanarought By., Banawn Ed)

In rough hill pasture, on the SE bank of a tributary of the Baurearagh River. A D-shaped area (5m E-W) defined by a curving drystone wall (T c. 0.6m; H 0.6m) with the straight E side (L 11m) formed by outcropping rock. The large stones of the lower courses of the wall are partially obscured by bog. The loose stones from the collapsed wall S-SW are scattered along the external and internal perimeter. There is an entrance at W (Wth 0.6m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
