What is recorded here

Wall-mounted cast-iron armorial plaque, c.1880, with inscribed armorial motifs having cartouche surround. Set in boundary wall at side of road.
This memorial plaque is a interesting and rare survival that was probably commissioned by the family resident at the nearby Narraghmore Demesne, which has subsequently been parcelled-off, and the plaque is therefore of social and historic interest. The plaque is of considerable artistic significance and is finely decorated with armorial motifs having a cartouche surround. Set on the side of the road plaque is a pleasant, if unassuming, feature in the locality and may originally have been positioned in a more prominent location.
