Detached two- or four-bay single-storey direct entry thatched farmhouse, extant 1837, on a rectangular plan. Hipped and pitched oat straw thatch roof, rope twist ridge with paired exposed hazel stretchers having exposed scallops, chicken wire-covered red brick Running bond dwarf chimney stack having stringcourse below capping, rendered coping to gable (west), and exposed hazel stretchers to eaves having exposed scallops. Limewashed rubble stone battered wall to front (north) elevation; limewashed rendered surface finish (side elevations); limewashed roughcast surface finish to rear (south) elevation. Square-headed door opening with concealed dressings framing timber boarded door. Square-headed window opening (east) or pair of square-headed window openings (west) with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing one-over-one timber sash windows. Set in own grounds.

A farmhouse identified as an important component of the vernacular heritage of County Kildare by such attributes as the compact rectilinear direct entry plan form; the construction in unrefined fieldstone displaying a feint battered silhouette; the disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing; and the high pitched roof showing an oat straw thatch finish. Having been well maintained, the form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, thus upholding the character or integrity of a farmhouse making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
