In pasture, on generally level area of gentle W-facing slope. Monument identified on aerial photograph (CUCAP 13 July 1966, APA 19; CUCAP 7 Oct. 1969, AYO 43). Sub-rectangular area defined by low bank (Wth 9m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.7m) on S (L 51m) and W (L 46m) sides and scarp on N (L 45m; Wth 8.5m; H 0.65m) and E (L 57m). External fosse (Wth 14m; D 0.8m) is distinctive to S, shallow and wide (Wth 14m; D 0.35m) to N and generally low in profile to E and W. Interior generally level and clear of vegetation. Possible annexe of monument to N, but truncated by field boundary and nothing visible in field to S. Possible annexe adjoining to W defined by edge of low profile fosse along this side and very low profile traces of scarp to S and W. Possible leat/dried up bed of watercourse extending (long-axis N-S) from NW corner. Moated site (TS067-009003-) adjoining to N and earthworks (TS067-009002-) to NE of latter.
