Milltown Lough Crannog

Milltown Lough Crannog is an archaeological place in County Down, Ireland. The name and location are the only facts supplied, so the rest is invention. A crannog is traditionally a small island platform built among reeds and rocks, often with a wooden hut, a jetty and a door that opened onto water. If that is what this was, people lived above the lake but inside its mood, listening for boats, birds and their own footsteps on damp timber.
