GRAVEYARD & TWO C19TH CROSSES in Greenan

GRAVEYARD & TWO C19TH CROSSES

What is recorded here

Two nineteenth-century crosses still stand beside the Greenan graveyard, marking a place where people laid others to rest before modern boundaries were drawn. They are scheduled, which means the state believes they belong to everyone and must not be erased. The stones have watched carts, weddings, storms and forgetting. They do not need a date to be worthy of protection.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as GRAVEYARD & TWO C19TH CROSSES. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN; C19TH. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
