Freestanding circular-plan two-stage windmill, built c.1790. Now ruinous and roofless. Rubble limestone walls with traces of render. Square-headed opposed door openings having rubble limestone voussoirs, and square-headed narrow window openings to upper levels.

Although the internal fittings and roof of this former windmill are gone, its walls are in good condition. This mill is one of several wind and tidal mills in south-west Galway. Already ruinous by the first Ordnance Survey in 1839, it is nonetheless a notable eye-catcher in the landscape.
