What is recorded here
Lambay’s west point has a strange heart. Under a thin skin of pebbles and animal bones, two people wait inside the rock. They are not guests of the land, nor forgetters of it. They are the reason the point exists. The chamber is small, the roof low, the address exact. What is remembered there does not need to be repeated. It only needs to be faced.
Excavations at The Point in the SW corner of Lambay Island in 1995 revealed a layer of pebbles intermixed with animal bones and a rimsherd of 'B' Ware (Cooney 1996, 25-26). This overlay burials (DU009-010003-).
