What is recorded here

Lambay Island holds a buried graveyard south of the boathouse, near cottages between the Castle and the sea. Skeletons emerged there, recorded by MacAlister in 1929, but the exact spot has slipped from local memory. The island keeps its dead close to the water and stone, waiting for someone to walk that stretch of coast and remember what the soil already knows.

According to MacAlister (1929, 240) skeletons were discovered near the row of cottages between the Castle and the sea, S of the boathouse. Not precisely located. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 26 August 2011
