What is recorded here

O'Connell and Henry both referred to a 'dolmen' on the SE facing slope of Bentee (NMI; 1957, 75). It is situated in dense forestry, but could not be located. From a photograph by O'Connell, the site appears to be a roofed lamb shelter. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 94. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 28 July 2013
