What is recorded here

One chamber, six metres long and little more than a man wide, still lies buried in Newtownbalregan. Build crews broke part of it before anyone recorded the whole shape, so the passage keeps its own counsel rather than ours.

The following description is derived from both the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986) and the 'Archaeological Survey of County Louth' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1991). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Drystone-built chamber (L 6.6m, Wth 1.7m, H 1.3m) aligned NW-SE. Partly destroyed during building operations. Now inaccessible. (CLAJ 1975, 195-7)
