Manning preserves a collapsed underground passage inside a ringfort, marked only by a five-metre depression on the western interior. People may have dug it for storage, escape or ritual, then watched the roof fall and the purpose blur. The earth kept the shape long after the builders forgot the name.

In ringfort (CO027-089---). Depression (L c. 5m; D 1.5m) towards W side of interior may indicate position of collapsed Man-made underground passage.
