Under Mangerton, a hidden passage linked a rath to a cave beside a rock scarp. The cave is gone, filled and forgotten, but the landowner still remembers the route. What is missing may have been a trade road, a flight path or a boundary marker. The earth kept the shape long enough for one witness to repeat it.

According to the landowner, an underground passage led N from a rath (KE085-006----) to a 'cave' adjacent to a rock scarp. This 'cave' has since been filled in. There are no visible remains of this possible Man-made underground passage. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
