Lissangle hides a four-foot square passage whose roof still wears black soot, marking it as a breathing tunnel rather than a dead hole. Nyhan traced the route toward a nearby ringfort in the 1930s, suggesting people carried fire, message or mercy through darkness before the land forgot their names. The exact entrance has vanished, but the soot remains proof that the earth was not empty and human hands shaped the shadow.

Nyhan (1932, 33) describes passage 'four feet square' leading towards ringfort (CO132-043---); Nyhan adds that 'the roof of the passage was black with soot '. Exact location not known.
