Under a possible rath in Lisnacrilla, man-made passages cut through solid earth. Lewis recorded them in 1837 as subterraneous passages, yet no entrance, purpose or maker has emerged since. The hole may have hidden grain, excluded invaders or simply mocked the men who dug it.
