Man-made underground passage in Ballykilmurry (decies Without Drum By.)

Situated in the interior of rath (WA014-024001-). It was first discovered c. 1890 and was investigated in 1933 (Mongey 1933) when a curved lintelled passage (L c. 7.5m; Wth c. 0.8m; H c. 1m) with a drop entrance leading to a collapsed chamber (diam. c. 3.5m) was found. The floor of the passage was rock-cut and covered with a layer of charcoal. It is now closed, and there is no visible evidence of its presence. Mongey, L.
