Ballycullane holds a man-made underground passage on the east side of its ringfort, though collapse has hidden most of the chambers beneath a slight depression. The passage may have served the fortress as a secret route, a refuge, or a storage place, but its exact function has faded with its roofs. What remains is a subtle dip in the ground, waiting for someone to imagine the shape of the rooms lost beneath it.

In E side of ringfort (CO046-038---). Slight depression may indicate position of collapsed Man-made underground passage chambers.
