What is recorded here

Freestanding steel lamp standard, c.1925, comprising square-profiled shaft on moulded pedestal with decorative double bracket supporting lamps, and finial over. Set back from line of road in random rubble stone planter.
An appealing item of street furniture that is of some artistic design distinction. The decorative detailing, particularly to the brackets, emphasises the picturesque quality of the piece. The lamp standard forms an attractive focal point visible from Manor Street to the south-east.
