Kilcummin Church

Kilcummin Church vanished beneath village houses and cultivated fields, yet tombstones still surface when the soil is cut. The name Cill Chuimín Mhór preserves a big church dedicated to Cuimín, while older residents once recalled ruins standing where ordinary life now passes. What the cartographers recorded and the community remembered has been absorbed into the living town, leaving behind a buried church that keeps reappearing in the ground.
