That is a fairy fort, an earthen ringfort in Tír Broin. It stands on the SW slopes of a low ridge bordering Brandon Bay, east of the estuary of the Scorid and Glennahoo rivers. The single bank encloses a roughly circular space twenty-seven metres across, with a narrow southern entrance lined by two upright stones. Cultivation ridges and a clearance cairn still mark the interior, suggesting people lived here before the fairy name took hold.

Internal diam. 27.9m N-S, 26.6m E-W A roughly circular univallate rath situated on the SW slopes of a low ridge (483 feet/147m) which borders Brandon Bay to E of the estuary of the Scorid and Glennahoo rivers. The site commands an excellent view in all directions except to NNE where the rising hillslope restricts the outlook. The single earthen bank which encloses the site ranges from .3 to 1.1m in height internally and averages 2.25m in height externally; it is 4m wide at base. A modern drainage ditch skirts the outer edge of the bank to N and E. The entrance gap to SSW rises steeply to the interior; it is 1.6m wide and its E side is lined by 2 large stones set on edge.
