Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Located at the summit of a small hill. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) with trees on the perimeter is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and on a revision dated 1858. There are slight traces of a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 30m) defined by slight traces of a fosse at W and N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 14 December 2017
