What is recorded here

On a low ridge in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure with the designation 'Fort' on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. A raised subcircular area (c. 37m NNE-SSW; c. 30m WNW-ESE) enclosed by a much-denuded, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 1.8m; H 0.4-0.5m), which has been modified and incorporated into a field boundary. There is no trace of a fosse and the original entrance is not recognisable. This rath was used as a tree-ring in relatively modern times. Compiled by: Patrick F.
