On W side of abandoned quarry. Well-preserved rectangular kiln (7m N-S; c. 5.5m E-W) built into break in slope. Front elevation (E) has arched recess (H 2.6m; Wth 2.9m; D c. 2m) with lower inner arch; innermost part of recess damaged and blocked by galvanised sheets. Front corners of kiln rounded. Circular funnel (diam. 2.3m) stone-lined, apart from top 3m which is lined with brick. Remains of earthen ramp to W; top of kiln enclosed by low stone wall (H 0.5m; Wth 0.4m).
