What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cork, Ireland, where a twenty-three-metre earthen ring still holds its shape on a gentle south-facing slope. The land has swallowed most of the entrance, leaving only a low bank and a modern drain to mark the boundary between the human field and the hidden world below. What was built or born there has stopped answering human questions, but the circle remains complete enough to suggest it is still waiting for the right kind of visitor.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Depicted as hachured roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 23m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; indicated as small circular field defined by seven straight sides on 1904 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps. Site heavily overgrown and inaccessible, except bank (ext. H 1.2m) to S and W; modern drain (D 0.8m) cut along its base.
