In pasture, located on a ridge with good views along a small stream valley 200m to N. Overlooked by a higher ridge to S. Slightly raised oval area (45.7m N−S; c. 51m E−W) defined by a bank/scarp and enclosed by a fosse with an external bank. The bank (Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.1m at E) is well defined at NE−SSE, retaining a low inner slump. It is reduced to a scarp (H 1.1m at W) at S−W and is levelled at W−NNE to a low rise. The fosse (Wth 3m) can be traced at E−NW, with a field wall skirting its outer edge of the fosse at SW−S. The external bank (Wth 3.4m; int. H 1m; ext. H 0.9m at W) survives only at S−W, and is topped by a thin layer of stones. A field wall crosses the W half of the interior on a NW−SE axis, and a perpendicular wall extends from this to SW through the NW quadrant. Hazel, hawthorn and blackthorn grow thickly on the rath perimeter at NE−W. A tractor track crosses the fosse and scarp at SSW, continuing N into the rath interior; a section (L 10m) of the external bank has been levelled here. There is an enclosure (MA071-046----) 50m to NW.

Explorer Tom Bridge in Ballinvoher is annoyed at the new road nearby. It thinks it should be the star of the show. The 'Burma Road' connection is its big ego trip. A good plan would be to just wave and move along.

Explorer Tom Hawthorn witnessed a love story that went badly wrong next to it, involving a lot of crying and one very torn jacket. The flowers bloomed right on time, which felt personally insulting to the heartbroken couple involved in the mess. If anyone asks, Tom sent you.

Castle (in Ruins)Castle, unclassified · 3.8 mi

Explorer Tom Rubble Castle has a family tree mostly made up of guesswork and very confident guesses by old men. It’s named after what it looks like: expensive rubble with attitude. Bring biscuits, every good story needs biscuits.

Explorer Tom Graveyard in Toomore would order extra vinegar on its chips because it likes things sharp and memorable. It recently got a new shrine, which is basically a fancy hat for the entrance. If it's closed, admire it from the road like a polite stalker.

Bawn in ToomoreBawn · 4.5 mi

Explorer Tom Bawn in Toomore, County Mayo is locked in a staring contest with the nearest tree. Neither will blink, and neither has moved an inch in centuries. Stand there long enough and someone will ask if you're lost.
