Indicated

In wet pasture, on a slight E-facing slope. Fragmentary remains of a rectangular structure (int. 11.5m E-W; 3.8m N-S) with walls (T 0.8m) of uncoursed mortared sandstone. The external corners have sandstone quoins, the best of which are at the SW corner where the lowest quoin rests on a large boulder (H 0.6m). There is a break in the N wall (L 2.6m) and sections (L c. 2m) of the E and W walls are reduced to 1m in height, possibly indicating the position of window opes. This structure is named 'Templecaleen' on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, but the name is transferred on the 1914 OS 6-inch map to an adjacent church site (SL041-048001-) 50m to the N. There is a holy well (SL041-047----) 150m to the N.
